Power Outages, Snow, and Shortage of Staff
As we enter the winter season, we will likely run into inclement weather and illness. We want to have students at school if possible; however, should we run into some problems, here are some options we may implement.
If we have a snow day (one we can plan for), we will send work home with the students prior to the day. Teachers will be in contact to support students as needed.
For a power outage, if power is restored before 5:00 a.m., we will have a regular school day. If restored between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., we will start an hour late at 8:45 a.m., and the bus will run accordingly. If the power is not on by 7:00 a.m., school will be closed for the day.
Should we run into an illness/emergency with our teachers and have multiple teachers out (with advanced notice) and no sub coverage available, we will have a work-from-home day for high school students. They will have work to do at home.
Hopefully, we will not face any of these situations, but should they happen, you will be aware of what we may need to do.
